Welcome to Movas, the local life explorer that helps you find great food, coffee, museums, parks, hotels, attractions, and even nearby restrooms — plus discover recommendations from other users, spin the Food Wheel when you can't decide what to eat, and browse the Thought Blind Box for ideas from the community. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Movas ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application and all related services (the "Service"). By using Movas, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

01
Chapter One
Information We Collect
1.1 — Account & Profile

When you create a Movas account, we collect the information you voluntarily provide: your display name, email address, date of birth (to verify you are 18 years of age or older), profile photo, country of residence, and any personal bio you choose to write. If you register via Apple Sign-In or Google, we receive a limited profile dataset authorized by you and that provider.

1.2 — Location Data

With your permission, Movas may access your device location to enable nearby place discovery, map-based browsing, distance-sorted recommendations, and personalized suggestions. See Section 3 for full details on how location data is handled.

1.3 — Place Data & Interactions

We collect data about your interactions with places on Movas: places you view, favorite, save to your lists, mark as visited, recommend, or share. This forms your personal exploration history within the app. See Section 4 for full details.

1.4 — Recommendations & Reviews

When you recommend a place, write a review, or share a tip, we collect the content of your submission including photos, ratings, notes, and tags. Recommendations you publish are part of your public contribution to the community.

1.5 — Food Wheel & Blind Box Interactions

Your interactions with the Food Wheel (selections you make, results generated) and the Thought Blind Box (thoughts you submit, ideas you view) are collected to power these features. See Section 5 for full details.

1.6 — Device & Technical

We automatically collect device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, IP address, mobile carrier, app version, crash logs, and performance diagnostics to maintain service quality and diagnose technical issues.

1.7 — Usage & Behavioral Data

We record how you use the Service: features accessed, category browsing patterns, search queries, session frequency and duration. This data informs product improvements and optional personalization.

1.8 — Communications & Support

If you contact our support team, submit a report, or participate in surveys, we retain the content and metadata of those communications for resolution and service improvement purposes.

1.9 — Payment & Transaction Data

All payments are processed exclusively by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store your payment card details. We receive only anonymized transaction confirmation tokens and purchase entitlement data.

02
Chapter Two
How We Use Your Data
2.1 — Operating the Service

We use your information to authenticate your account, deliver place discovery, power map browsing, operate the Food Wheel and Thought Blind Box, manage your saved lists and history, enforce content policies, process purchases, and provide all core Service functions.

2.2 — Nearby Place Discovery

Where you grant location access, we use that information to display places near you across all supported categories (food, coffee, parks, museums, hotels, attractions, restrooms, and more), sort recommendations by proximity, and show them on the in-app map.

2.3 — Community Features

Your recommendations, reviews, and Blind Box submissions are used to populate the community feed, enable discovery by other users, and foster connection between local life enthusiasts.

2.4 — Personalization

Your saved places, browsing history, category preferences, and interaction patterns are used to personalize place recommendations, surface relevant community content, and tailor discovery to your interests. See Section 8 for details.

2.5 — Safety & Platform Integrity

We process behavioral signals and user reports to detect and prevent prohibited content, harassment, fake reviews, and policy violations within community features.

2.6 — Product Improvement

Aggregated and de-identified usage data is analyzed to improve place discovery accuracy, category coverage, community feature usability, and overall platform performance.

2.7 — Marketing & Communications

With your consent where required by applicable law, we may send promotional communications about new features, curated recommendations, and platform offers. You may withdraw consent at any time via in-app settings or the unsubscribe link in any email.

2.8 — Legal Compliance

We process personal data as necessary to comply with applicable laws, respond to valid legal process, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect the safety of our users and the public.

03
Chapter Three
Location Data
3.1 — Why Location Matters on Movas

Movas is at its heart a nearby-discovery tool. Location access enables the core value of the app: showing you what's close, what's worth visiting, and where the community has been. That said, location access is entirely optional; you may use much of the app without granting it, including browsing places by manually entered locations or exploring places others have shared.

3.2 — GPS Permission

Movas requests "While Using the App" location access only. We do not request background location access. You may revoke location permission at any time via device settings without losing access to most features.

3.3 — How Location Data Is Used

Location data is used for:

  • Displaying places near you on the map and in category browsers
  • Sorting recommendations by distance
  • Powering nearby-based personalization
  • Providing accurate directions when you tap through to external navigation apps
3.4 — Location in Recommendations

When you recommend a place, the place's location is part of the recommendation. Your own precise location at the time of publishing is not attached to your recommendation — only the location of the place being recommended.

3.5 — No Location Selling
Your location data is not sold or shared with advertisers, data brokers, or third parties for their independent commercial use. Location is used solely within the Service to deliver its core discovery functions.
3.6 — Location Data Retention

Precise session GPS data is not retained beyond the session as raw coordinates. Aggregated area-level insights derived from usage patterns may be retained for product improvement in anonymized form.

04
Chapter Four
Place Recommendations & Data
4.1 — Place Database

Movas maintains a global database of places across food, coffee, parks, museums, hotels, attractions, restrooms, and other categories, sourced from a combination of curated data, community contributions, and third-party place data providers. Place information includes name, address, category, hours, and general details.

4.2 — Community Recommendations

Users may recommend places, write reviews, add tips, upload photos, and share their opinions. These contributions are public by default when published to the community and are visible to other Movas users. Contributions are attributed to your display name.

4.3 — Your Interaction History

Your saved places, favorites, visited markers, and personal lists form your private exploration history within the app. This data is visible only to you unless you explicitly choose to share a specific list publicly.

4.4 — Content Accuracy
Movas is a community-driven discovery platform. Place information, hours, prices, and recommendations may not always be current or accurate. We do not verify or endorse third-party places or community contributions. Always confirm important details (hours of operation, accessibility, current status) with the establishment directly before visiting.
4.5 — Recommendation Deletion

You may delete your recommendations, reviews, and other contributions at any time. Deleted content is removed from public view within 48 hours and from production servers within 30 days.

05
Chapter Five
Food Wheel & Thought Blind Box
5.1 — Food Wheel

The Food Wheel is a decision-making tool that helps you choose what to eat when you can't decide. When you spin the wheel, we may use your general location, saved food preferences, past interactions, and available places in the food category to generate options. The randomized result is generated at the moment of spinning.

5.2 — Food Wheel Data

Your Food Wheel interactions (spins, selections chosen, options declined) are used to improve the feature's suggestions and to personalize future spins to your tastes. This data is not shared with third-party advertisers or restaurant chains.

5.3 — Thought Blind Box

The Thought Blind Box is a community feature where users may share brief thoughts, ideas, or moods, and others may draw a random idea from the box for inspiration. When you contribute a thought, it becomes anonymously available to other users to discover. When you draw from the box, you receive a randomized selection of community-contributed thoughts.

5.4 — Blind Box Anonymity
Thoughts contributed to the Blind Box are displayed to other users without attribution to your display name or profile by default. This is intended to encourage genuine, low-pressure sharing. However, remember that any content submitted to the platform is subject to our Community Guidelines and moderation; the anonymity in display does not create any obligation of anonymity in moderation or legal contexts.
5.5 — Blind Box Moderation

Thoughts submitted to the Blind Box are subject to automated screening and human review. Content that violates our Community Guidelines — including harassment, sexual content, hate speech, spam, or CSAE-related material — is removed before or after publication and may result in account enforcement action.

5.6 — Deleting Blind Box Contributions

You may delete your own Blind Box submissions at any time from your account settings. Deleted contributions are removed from the pool of available draws within 48 hours.

06
Chapter Six
User-Generated Content
6.1 — Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for all content you publish or submit through the Service, including recommendations, reviews, photos, tips, community posts, Blind Box thoughts, and comments. By submitting content, you represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to it and that it complies with these Terms and all applicable laws.

6.2 — License Grant

By publishing UGC publicly on Movas, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your content within the Service and in connection with promoting Movas, subject to your visibility settings. You retain full ownership of all original content you create.

6.3 — Content Moderation

Community-shared UGC is subject to automated screening and human review for compliance with our Community Guidelines. Content that is harmful, misleading (including fake reviews or artificially inflated ratings), harassing, or otherwise prohibited will be removed. Accounts responsible for repeated violations may be suspended or terminated.

6.4 — Content Deletion

You may delete your published UGC at any time. Deleted content is removed from public view within 48 hours, from production servers within 30 days, and from backup archives within 90 days.

07
Chapter Seven
Community Features
7.1 — Community Feed

Where you share recommendations or reviews publicly, they appear in Movas's community feeds for other users to discover. Public entries include your display name, the place recommended, your rating and notes, and any photos you attach.

7.2 — Comments & Reactions

Other users may comment on or react to your public recommendations. Comments are associated with the commenter's display name. You may moderate and delete comments on your own contributions at any time.

7.3 — Following Users

You may follow other users whose recommendations resonate with you. Follower relationships are visible in your profile activity unless you set your profile to private.

7.4 — Reporting & Blocking

You may report or block any user or content at any time. Reports are reviewed by our safety team. Your identity as the reporting user is kept confidential from the reported party.

08
Chapter Eight
Personalization Engine
8.1 — How Personalization Works

Movas uses your saved places, browsing history, category preferences, general location patterns, and engagement signals to personalize what you see: which recommendations surface first, which category tiles feature at the top, which Food Wheel results are more likely, and which community content appears in your feed.

8.2 — No External Advertising Profiling

Your interaction data, saved places, and personal preferences are not used to build an advertising profile or shared with third-party advertising networks for behavioral targeting.

8.3 — Opting Out

You may disable personalized recommendations at any time in Settings > Privacy > Personalization. Movas will then present a non-personalized, editorially curated experience.

09
Chapter Nine
Information Sharing & Disclosure
9.1 — Service Providers

We share personal information with trusted third-party service providers supporting our operations: cloud infrastructure, place data providers, mapping services, payment processors, analytics platforms, customer support tools, and content moderation systems. All providers are contractually bound to process your data only on our instructions and in compliance with applicable data protection law.

9.2 — No Sale of Personal Data

We do not sell your personal information, your location data, your saved places, or your recommendations to any third party, including advertisers, place data brokers, or ad networks.

9.3 — Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may transfer to the acquiring entity. We will notify you in advance before your data becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy, giving you the opportunity to request account deletion.

9.4 — Legal Disclosure

We may disclose your information to law enforcement or government authorities when required by applicable law, valid legal process, or where necessary to protect the safety of any person. Where legally permitted, we will notify affected users prior to such disclosure.

9.5 — Publicly Visible Content

Your display name, profile photo, and publicly shared recommendations, reviews, photos, and posts are visible to Movas users. You may adjust visibility in account settings.

10
Chapter Ten
Third-Party Services & SDKs
10.1 — Mapping & Place Data Providers

Movas uses third-party mapping services and place data providers to render maps and enhance place information. When you use map or place features, relevant location data is transmitted to these providers under data processing agreements. These providers are governed by their own privacy policies.

10.2 — Analytics SDKs

Mobile analytics SDKs measure app performance and feature engagement, configured with privacy-preserving settings including anonymized event collection and suppression of advertising identifiers absent your consent.

10.3 — Photo & CDN Infrastructure

User-uploaded photos are stored on cloud infrastructure and delivered via CDN providers. These providers process delivery metadata as technical intermediaries under data processing agreements.

10.4 — Authentication Providers

Apple Sign-In and Google authentication are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Our use of data from these services is limited to account creation and basic profile population.

11
Chapter Eleven
Data Retention
11.1 — Active Account Data

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. Accounts with no login activity for 24 consecutive months will receive a dormancy notice; following the notice period, inactive data may be anonymized or deleted.

11.2 — Recommendations & UGC

Your published recommendations, reviews, and UGC are retained for the life of your account or until you delete them. You may delete individual items or all your contributions at any time.

11.3 — Saved Places & History

Your saved places, lists, and exploration history are retained for the life of your account. You may clear individual entries or your entire history from account settings.

11.4 — Transaction Records

Financial transaction records are retained for a minimum of seven years to comply with applicable accounting, tax, and consumer protection obligations.

11.5 — Safety & Moderation Records

Records of content moderation actions, user reports, and enforcement decisions are retained for up to 36 months after account closure.

12
Chapter Twelve
Data Security
12.1 — Technical Safeguards

We implement TLS 1.2+ encryption for all data in transit, AES-256 encryption for sensitive data at rest, strict role-based access controls, and automated anomaly detection.

12.2 — Organizational Safeguards

Data access is restricted on a need-to-know basis, requires multi-factor authentication, and is comprehensively audit-logged. All personnel with data access receive regular data protection training and sign confidentiality agreements.

12.3 — Vulnerability Management

We conduct regular security assessments and third-party penetration testing. Report security vulnerabilities responsibly to service@movas.blog.

12.4 — Breach Notification

In the event of a personal data breach posing risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify relevant supervisory authorities within 72 hours where required by law and inform affected users without undue delay.

13
Chapter Thirteen
Tracking Technologies
13.1 — In-App Technologies

Movas uses session tokens, local storage, and analytics SDKs (not traditional browser cookies) to maintain your authenticated session, remember preferences, and sync your saved places across devices.

13.2 — Advertising Identifiers

On iOS, we request ATT consent before accessing your IDFA. On Android, we respect your opt-out via device advertising settings. Advertising identifiers are used only to measure our own user acquisition campaigns and are not shared for third-party behavioral advertising.

13.3 — Web Properties

Our website may use standard browser cookies for session management and analytics, manageable via your browser settings.

14
Chapter Fourteen
Cross-Border Transfers
14.1 — Global Infrastructure

Movas serves a global user base and operates cloud infrastructure across multiple regions. Your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, which may have different data protection standards.

14.2 — Transfer Safeguards

For transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to countries lacking an adequacy decision, we rely on EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and, where applicable, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum (IDTA). Equivalent safeguards apply to other cross-border transfers.

14.3 — Data Localization

Where applicable national laws impose mandatory data localization requirements, we take reasonable steps to store and process the required data categories within the mandated territory.

17.1 — California Rights

California residents have rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Movas does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

17.2 — Non-Discrimination

Exercising your California privacy rights will not result in denial of services, different pricing, or reduced quality of experience.

Children's Privacy & CSAE Policy
19.1 — Age Restriction

Movas is designed for users who are 18 years of age or older. We implement date-of-birth verification at registration and apply additional detection measures to accounts suspected of being operated by minors. Confirmed underage accounts are immediately and permanently terminated with all associated data deleted.

19.2 — Parental Notification

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has created a Movas account, contact us immediately at service@movas.blog. We will investigate and, where confirmed, permanently delete the account and all associated data without delay.

19.3 — Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE)
Zero tolerance — absolute and without exception. Movas enforces an unconditional zero-tolerance policy toward any content, conduct, or activity that constitutes, facilitates, promotes, or glorifies Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) in any form. Prohibited conduct includes without limitation: child sexual abuse material (CSAM); grooming, solicitation, or exploitation of individuals under 18; and any content depicting, targeting, or endangering persons under 18.

We deploy automated CSAM hash-matching on all uploaded media, AI-assisted content analysis on community posts and Blind Box submissions, and dedicated human safety reviewers. Upon confirmed detection or credible report: all associated content is immediately and permanently removed; the responsible account is permanently terminated and all associated identifiers are blocked; a mandatory report is filed with the NCMEC CyberTipline or the legally required equivalent national authority; and we cooperate fully with all resulting law enforcement investigations. CSAE-related terminations carry no right of appeal.

To report: use the in-app Report function on any content or user profile, or email service@movas.blog immediately with subject "CSAE Report." These are our highest-priority safety matter, actioned without delay.
